Program Manager with experience driving projects, developing teams, managing multiple stakeholders, and ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets.
Hi there, my name’s Cara! If you'd like to learn more about me & my work, please read on or feel free to check out my LinkedIn profile (below).
My work and expertise are focused on program management, content development, partner success, and account management. Currently, I am a Program Manager & Partner Success Manager for the one of the top online learning companies in the world, Coursera. In my role, I work with a roster of Coursera's top university partners to drive continued partner success via new program implementation, consultation, training, and strong relationship building.
My career thus far has been focused on online education, because I believe it's an industry primed to transform lives and democratize learning.
Before I worked at Coursera, I was a Project Manager and Account Manager at an online learning startup called Construct Education. I primarily work with a large CA high school district client to oversee its new educational content initiative (20 original online courses customized to meet the district's curriculum needs). Every day, I worked with global teams of instructional designers, learning technologists, graphic designers, and subject matter experts to develop high quality K12 and HighEd programs, while also frequently working with school leadership to align on program needs and vision.
Before Construct, I ran my own video production and marketing business for 3 years. The company - COCO Media - was formed during my sophomore year at Duke University after I saw an unmet need for educational and promotional healthcare content. 70+ finished programs later, and I can say that running my business taught me so much, including how to develop an efficient content pipeline, successfully oversee multiple content projects at once, and build strong client relationships.
What I am passionate about:
I am incredibly passionate about education — specifically, education accessibility. My passion stems from a very personal place. My family’s trajectory was completely transformed for the better when, several decades ago, my grandparents lucked into a chance at good schooling in the Philippines. The power of that educational opportunity opened up the world for my family. Having seen what education can do, I want my work to help as many people as possible get their fair shot at a great education.

My interests span far and wide, from hiking to reading to playing board games with friends. I love to cook (ask me about my signature salmon dish!), write (songs, poems, and books), travel (current dream destination: Japan), and use parentheses (is it obvious?). I also enjoy learning new things! Currently, I am teaching myself how to create electronic music.
And, like many, I am a big fan of movies, music, TV shows, podcasts, and books. Here are a few of my favorites!
